Hiking in the New Year
January 2, 2009 § Leave a comment
Several weeks ago, we had this great plan that we would plan a hiking trip for New Year’s Day. We were mostly excited about the prospect of hiking on a Thursday morning.
Well, one thing led to another and we eventually made our way to Topanga Canyon Park along with Tanaya’s husband, Ryan.
After a lunch of McDonalds, we figured it would be wise to choose a hike to burn off all those McCalories. So, we chose what we thought to be a 2.6 mile hike called Temscal Canyon Loop.
After about an hour, a steep incline, and what the trail markers told us was a mile of hiking, we ended up at a bridge and a dried out waterfall. Fully expecting to be half way through with the hike, we forged ahead, climbing higher and higher.
One thing we all appreciated about this trail was the anonymity of it. Looking up, you would never be able to see that trails were carved into the side of this mountain. And, making it to the top was positively breathtaking.
It was a great day for 643Ink. We hope you stay tuned for all of our 2009 Adventures!
