Whenever we meet a bride and groom, we get a little excited. We can’t wait to meet the couple who has chosen us to document one of the biggest days of their lives. We have to say, though, that we were especially excited to meet DeAnna and Sharron.
We were in the middle of a marketing meeting on Valentine’s morning (yes, we were working!) when we thought how cool would it be to hear the stories of brides and grooms on this holiday. Within minutes we had a blog, tweets, and facebook statuses publicizing our V-Day promotion.
We were touched by DeAnna and Sharron’s entry because they sounded like great people. With five kids, we could tell they were in love and were working hard to make their wedding day as special as possible.
We met with couple in their apartment a few weeks before the wedding and were struck by the way they complimented each other. DeAnna was full of energy and described every detail of her wedding to the fullest. Sharron was easygoing and just wanted to make his wife-to-be happy. We left the meeting thrilled that they were our winners.
On Saturay, March 14, we arrived at the Japanese Tea Garden in Van Nuys. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful setting. And, it was a day designed to celebrate family. All of the kids played a role in the wedding. Sharron’s mother was the minister. Sisters and brothers were the wedding party.
After a beautiful ceremony, we made use of the beautiful grounds to take group shots and headed over to the reception hall from there.
The Japanese theme was carried through to the fullest, including a beautiful Geta dancer. We are so thrilled that we were able to play a role in the wedding day of Mr. & Mrs. Gossett.
